Warning About World Gaming And Cryptologic Hackers - Despite Making Some Effort To Reduce The Risk Of Hackers, Both World Gaming and Cryptologic Have Very Insecure Systems.

Despite making some effort to reduce the risk of hackers breaking into their websites, both World Gaming and Cryptologic have very insecure systems. One document recently filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by World Gaming states: "Despite the implementation of security measures, our network may be vulnerable to unauthorized access, computer viruses and other disruptive problems."

A reliable source has indicated to our magazine that a group of Russian hackers intent on making a quick profit offered the entire databases of both World Gaming and Cryptologic and other gaming sites for sale and they wanted $ 500,000! The hackers had found their way into all the systems in a matter of minutes.

The World Gaming SEC filing continues: "Given the content of our web sites, there is an incentive for 'hackers' to penetrate our network security. A party that is able to circumvent security measures could misappropriate proprietary information and, perhaps, most critically, cause interruptions in our operations."

There is a cliché to describe this eventuality: it is called locking the stable door after the horse has bolted. Hackers do untold damage, even more so if there is collusion between one crook and another to share information. In practice, this means that if you have ever opened an account at online casino sites with World Gaming or Cryptologic software for the games, your personal data has probably been passed round many times. You will be spammed by junk e-mails from other online casinos, and your credit card numbers could be in the hands of crooks.

Our advice is not to play at any site run by World Gaming or Cryptologic software and check your credit card statements very carefully. If necessary, request a new card with a different number.

If you do receive unwanted spam messages offering fantastic sign-up bonuses that are too good to be true, never click on the "unsubscribe" link, as this will make it even worse. They find out that you have a valid e-mail address and you will receive even more junk mail than before.
